About Darla Givens

For nearly 30 years, Darla Givens has forecasted weather in the Central Valley. In recent years, she has transitioned her career as a meteorologist and television personality to owning a public relations company, DGivens Media Consulting. She has collaborated with political and business leaders, medical professionals and educators in the region to bring awareness to causes that impact the lives of everyday people.

Darla's commitment to the Central Valley community has led her to become active in many groups and organizations in the region, including the City of Sacramento, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary and the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce.

Darla is a board member of the Dr. Ernest and Arthella Hunter Foundation. The non-profit provides scholarships to medical students who are involved in community service.

In addition to her community activism, Darla is the busy mom of three young men, a dog and cat. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys singing in her church choir.
