The 27th Annual MLK Celebration, held at Sacramento State on Saturday, January 24, 2026, brought together nearly 300 community members, leaders, and students to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The MLK Committee presented the 2026 Robert T. Matsui Community Service Award to Kevin Brown, CEO and Founder of People Working Together, and attendees were inspired by a powerful keynote address from Bishop Parnell Lovelace. The evening also highlighted MLK Essay Contest winners and continued the tradition of supporting education through scholarship fundraising.
