Each year, our event brings people together to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It’s a moment to reflect, take action, and recognize those who continue his work for justice and equality.
As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’re excited to share new developments, including a scholarship fund and powerful student voices from across the region.
Recently, the MLK Committee launched the Dr. Dorothy and Jerry Enomoto/MLK Committee Sacramento Scholarship Fund at Sacramento State. This fund will support students and carry the Enomotos’ legacy forward. Learn more about the scholarship ➜

James Wheatley Named 2025 Robert T. Matsui Community Service Award Honoree
The MLK Celebration Sacramento Committee is proud to announce that James Wheatley, founder of Celebration Arts, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Robert T. Matsui Community Service Award. Lisa McNair Announced as Keynote Speaker for 2025 MLK Celebration Sacramento
The MLK Celebration Sacramento Committee is thrilled to announce that Lisa McNair, an acclaimed advocate for reconciliation and social justice, will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2025 MLK Celebration Sacramento.
