Each year, our event brings people together to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It’s a moment to reflect, take action, and recognize those who continue his work for justice and equality.

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’re excited to share new developments, including a scholarship fund and powerful student voices from across the region.

Recently, the MLK Committee launched the Dr. Dorothy and Jerry Enomoto/MLK Committee Sacramento Scholarship Fund at Sacramento State. This fund will support students and carry the Enomotos’ legacy forward. Learn more about the scholarship ➜

In addition, we’ve posted the winning essays from the 2025 MLK Essay Contest. These entries offer heartfelt reflections from students in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, Sutter, and El Dorado counties.
